Day 4 - A crazy chicken and two dogs on a roof
An organically delightful day, starting with a two-hour bumpy bus ride - thankfully with Giovanni’s suggested bathroom break in the middle - we finally arrived at El Caliche. Muddy but sunny, we set up shop and started our medical mission with the community.
With a whole day of experience behind us, we set out to serve our new friends and families alongside the wonderful and knowledgeable Friends of Barnabas staff. As the heat crept in and the crowd grew, teeth were extracted, and families were examined one by one.
Highlights of the day included nail painting, rock tower building, and of course a soccer game. The day came to a close as everyone moved through each station, the medical team working hard to deliver thoughtful and compassionate care to each member of the community. There were a few hiccups, but our team surged on to complete the day with joy. Back on the bus for our journey home, to eat and discuss our day at the clinic. All in all, a good day, once again thankful to serve the members of the community and wake up to see a different community tomorrow.
