August Team #1 2026 Thursday, August 6th Another rain storm rumbled through last night leaving us with a fresh new day and some questions about how our road would be for this morning’s travels. We spent the first part of our journey to the town of Piletas speeding along a main road before turning off and beginning our climb up and up. August 5th Today we headed up the mountain to the community of Las Margaritas. This is a smaller community of approximately 260 people. This community has been in the Barnabas system for several years. We noticed that the people of this community seem very close knit. The children were well behaved, polite and very good about helping each other. Siblings helping little ones with their shoes and leading them to the next station as well as taking turns during play time. Amanda

August Team #1 2026 Tuesday, August 4th Today we traveled through the amazing Honduran countryside to El Matazano. This is one of the farthest communities that we visit (about 2 hours). A village without electricity. Today we had 53 families come to the clinic. Many families are quite large with lots of precious children. Gary gave his cross to the community leader who did a great job greeting us-they formed a good connection, and he touched Gary’s heart. Jackie laughed when

August Team #1 2026 Monday, August 3rd We had a great day in Plancitos de Suyapa, that is after we got there. I have not been able to capture the narrow width and steep climb and inevitable descent that our amazing driver Giovany managed to safely get us through. Tuesday, July 14, 2026 Today we went to El Lanillal, which has an estimated 136 inhabitants and about 45 family groups. One would think that today would have been an easier day since there were only 45 families instead of 50; however, the families in this town tended to be bigger. Yesterday, the families tended to only have around 1-2 children, but in El Lanillal, each of the families had around 3 children. The school in this community was too small to host our big group, so
