Today we made our way back to Peña Blanca. After three exhausting days of clinics, it was nice to sleep in a little and take a slower pace through this day. We started with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a devotion by Yolanda on trusting God and being flexible.

After hitting the road, we made a quick stop at a roadside bakery for some goodies and then enjoyed conversations and mountain gazing on the bus. A couple hours into our ride we stopped in Comayagua for lunch and to visit the Central Square. Linda, one of our translators, happens to be studying tourism, and jumped right in to share this city's history.

Comayagua was the capital of the Province of Honduras during the Spanish colonial period from 1537 - 1880. Today it is one of Central America's best preserved colonial historic centers and home to the world's oldest gear clock still in operation.

We walked around the plaza, visited the cathedral, and enjoyed some ice cream before getting back on the bus for a couple more hours of driving. Arriving back at Alfredo's House felt like coming home, and many of us really feel like this is a home away from home. We went out to dinner at D&D Brewery where we enjoyed the jungle atmosphere, good food and each other's company.

This evening Chelsea shared a devotion on recognizing the small sanctuary spaces in our daily lives. Comayagua was certainly one of those spaces. For the first time since our trip began on Saturday, time slowed down while we were there, allowing us space to pray, ponder, and even dance. And certainly being back at Alfredo's House feels like another sanctuary.
