Awe, Camaraderie & Preparation

Day 2 – Honduras October Medical Mission Trip - Oct 19, 2025

Today was a beautiful mix of awe, camaraderie, and preparation. We began the morning by exploring the breathtaking waterfall. We enjoyed witnessing the beauty and grace in contrast to the overwhelming power and energy of the falls. A few adventurous team members even braved the hike down to experience the spray of the falls. Undoubtedly the team's favorite part of the morning was the rainbows that shimmered through the mist of the waterfall. It reminded us of God’s beauty and promise in every detail of creation.

After drying off, we made a quick stop at the grocery store for some essentials—Pepsi Lite for Shirley and JennaLynn, juice bags for Anna, and a few local tamarind candies that Nareesa and Yolanda couldn’t resist trying.

The afternoon shifted us into “business mode.” We unpacked and organized all the medications, first aid, and hygiene supplies, ensuring every detail was ready for the week ahead. Returning team members helped refresh the process, while new team members learned how to chart in the Backpack EMR system. By the end of the session, everyone had their roles for the week—vitamin/deworming, height/weight/vital checks, vision and eyewear, dental care, and medical stations.

Most importantly, John led us in a beautiful Blessing of the Hands ceremony. It was a sacred moment to center our hearts and minds on the true purpose of our mission—serving others with compassion, humility, and love. With grateful hearts and ready hands, we look forward to the week ahead.
