A beautiful sunrise awoke us at the Alfredo House followed by another delicious breakfast prepared by Virginia and Albita, and our morning devotional led by Gabby which allowed us to be ready for our next leg of the journey.
Along with the wonderful and steadfast staff, we met up with Dr. Moncada and others to make our way to Buenos Aires, a village of 700 people located in Las Vegas Santa Barbara. Closer to the village the roads became rough and narrow, even forcing Marco, Walter and Cardy to assess a recently damaged road. After a quick assessment and prayer we were able to resume our travels to Buenos Aires.
Upon our arrival we were met with smiles, warmth and many people dressed in their Sunday best. After quickly setting up five stations, the clinic assessed over 300 people, including 29 tooth extractions with Nicole and Dr. Ferrell and 63 individuals received fluoride treatment along with lots of singing, playing and picture taking with Melba. Wrapping of the day, we were delighted to witness the children's happiness with their temporary tattoos and stickers.
Back at the Alfredo House, a delicious meal was shared along with Teresa's evening devotional which focused on humility. In Ephesians 4:2, we are instructed to be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Today, we witnessed many acts of humility within the University team and within the Buenos Aires population. Our hearts were truly touched with the kindness, generosity and love exhibited today. As we prepare for sleep, our humbled hearts look forward to what God will bring before us tomorrow.
