Sus Manos Team is in Honduras this Week

Journal 1

Saturday, February 11, 2017

Our team landed safely in San Pedro Sula without delays! We were taken through customs in record time too! Since we hadn't had a good meal yet and were hungry after several hours in the planes, we decided to grab something at the airport. By now we were more than ready to get moving so we all piled into the bus and were brought to Casa De Alfredo ( Alfredo House) to unwind and settle in.

We sorted all the give-a-ways for the week, and there were plenty. So much so we put some away for the next team arriving 2 weeks after we leave. A delicious dinner was prepared for us which we were so grateful for! Then Devotions and finally to bed! Such a blessed day!

After breakfast this morning we piled once again into our bus and headed off to the Botanical Gardens. Such beauty! We had a guide throughout the gardens and Cardy and Carlos took turns translating for us. We hiked a good distance but time flew and before we knew it, it was time to return to Alfredo house to count pills and sort medicines we'll be taking to the villages during the week. We finished just in time to be treated to a dinner out with Nury joining us for whole, steamed Tilapia along with other delicacies. So delicious!

Once back at home we had devotions with Charles and Peggy leading us. We received communion and were given our crosses which we will give away during the week as our hearts lead us. We said a special prayer of remembrance for our brother in Christ, George Blair, and added our own intentions as the Spirit moved us. Now it's time for bed. A very early, busy day awaits us. We have nurses here for the first time along with seasoned nurses who will help smooth the way for our newbies. We've already begun to feel a closeness to one another which will grow as the week moves on.

Blessings to you all from " Sus Manos" medical mission team.
