Settling In

Saturday, August 2

The Farmville Mountain Medical team has arrived safely. Despite being up since 3:30 am, we decided to get right to work. Elmer, Marco, Harry and Robin sorted through glasses, and began to learn about the eye computer system. Gale, Amy, and Sydney sorted flip flops, diapers, toothbrushes and clothes. The rest of us counted and bagged pain relievers, adult vitamins, and children’s vitamins. All was done with the cool Honduran breeze and a variety of music from the 90’s.

Dinner was fabulous, as always. Our after dinner discussion included introducing ourselves (this is the first time we have all been together in one place), learning about our home away from home, and getting the next day’s itinerary.

Harry and Tammy led us in a time of devotions where we each shared our expectations for the week. We were reminded that God has the plan for us this week; all we need to do is listen and love. We are ready for bed, but even more ready for what the week has in store for us.
