The September Team is in Honduras!

Day 1- September 20, 2025

Convening at Atlanta Airport from Philadelphia, Richmond, Roanoke, and Greensboro, the arduous trip began! Plane changes, Starbucks, and the conversations of new comrades were abundant as we started the organic building of relationships to build the Medical Mission Team and sustain throughout the week! 

The line at customs, albeit long, was insignificant and we were promptly aboard the Friends of Barnabas bus and headed to Alfredo House. As we nibbled on dried mango from Philly, our chariot took us through authentic villages as we oohed and awed at the scenic route - noticing the chickens, motorcycles, laundry, pulperias, and the beautiful countryside. 

The aromas pulling into Alfredo House’s premises were mesmerizing and comforting. Folks were starting to droop, but it didn’t take too long for everyone to settle into our rooms. Dinner - local fare of course - chicken, yucca, pataste, rice and beans, Maria’s presentation, a round-table, getting-to-know-you chat, a rousing game of Dutch Blitz, with a gorgeous thunderstorm roaring in the background completed our Day 1.
