“I will lift up my hands and call upon your Name” (Psalm 63.4).  “Lift up your heads…that the King of glory may come in” (Psalm 24.7).

The day started with a devotional by Shirley. “This week, I’m asking you to hold up your wings. Let your spirit soar. See God’s face in the children as they play around us. See God’s spirit in your Honduran co-workers. Feel the breeze of the Holy Spirit and know that God is present.”

Today the team went to Plancitos de Suyapa.  The community has 700 residents divided into 120 families. The water source for the community is located 4.5 miles away and piped into the community. All homes cook on indoor stoves. The closest clinic is a one hour walk away where there is one doctor and one nurse.

We had three team members give away their crosses today.  Kim, who worked in the pharmacy, met a child who was mute and deaf.  The grandparents informed Kim that the boy was 10 years old and could hear a little if you got very close.  He received Kim’s cross, and she prayed with both the child and grandparents.

Evelyn gave her cross to a little girl in the dental clinic who was also named Evelyn. Elvin complimented Evelyn on the wonderful job she did comforting the children as they had their extractions done.

Finally, Shirley saw a family with severe respiratory issues.  All members were treated in the clinic and Shirley gave her cross to the 13-year-old girl whose lungs were not functioning properly.

We ended the day with a devotional from Yolanda about a pumpkin patch strike.  God is the Gardener and we are the pumpkins.  He lavishes us with love, grace, and blessings but often, we fail to receive them. We need to turn to Him in gratitude with all the blessings that He bestows upon us.
