Alex led this morning’s devotional reminding us to lead with love, citing 1 Corinthians 13:1-3, which tells us that without love, nothing else matters.
Today’s community was Las Delicias, which holds a special place in many team members’ hearts. Many of us were blessed to be visiting this community for the second or third time and were able to see familiar, smiling faces.
Several team members gave away their crosses today. Shar gave her cross to Yolanda, inspired by her work in the medical clinic. Reeves gave his cross to an older gentleman who was struggling a little bit to walk. This gentleman reminded him of the importance of optimism during life’s hardships. Maggie gave her cross to her last family of the day. The woman had gone through many hardships. Despite this, the woman carried so much joy and happiness. Alex was able to reunite with the recipient of her cross from last year and was thrilled to see that he was still wearing it!
Some of the team also participated in a home visit today and got to meet a woman dealing with paralysis. We learned her story, and Alex and Shawn had the privilege of praying over her and holding her hand.
Shirley’s devotional in the evening was about how there’s never any need to worry because God works all things out. The night concluded with a fun, and highly competitive, game of spoons.
