This morning, we had the incredible honor of meeting our Honduran teammates and assigned translators. Some faces were familiar from previous trips, and it was wonderful to see those friendships still so present. Others were new faces who quickly began to feel like old friends.

Together, we traveled to our first community, La Germania I, where we were welcomed with open arms, & genuine gratitude.

We quickly got to work, assembling the clinic, organizing our stations, and preparing ourselves to pour into the people of Honduras. Each person stepped into their role, and before long, our clinic was up and running.

No matter what role you played today, every member of our team worked together with purpose. From our medical providers and nurses to our translators, pharmacy, dental, support team, and everyone behind the scenes, we were one team caring for one community.

Today, we had the privilege of caring for 37 families. But the numbers only tell a small part of the story.

It was the laughter, the smiles, the children running and playing, and the connections made that will stay with us. Each moment impacted us in a different way. Some moments were filled with joy, others with compassion and reflection, but every encounter reminded us of why we came.

Today was an amazing first day of mission work. Upon returning to Alfredo House we celebrated two very special FOB team member’s birthdays, Maria & Dr. Jim! ¡Feliz cumpleaños! 🥳🎉❤️

We may have returned to tired…But our hearts are full. ❤️ Full of gratitude. Full of purpose. Full of the people we met today.

And as we close out our first day in the community, we are ready to rest, recharge, and continue our mission tomorrow. One team. One purpose.
