Today was supposed to be our final clinic day. We were headed to La Pimienta, San Jose, Comayagua. However, after being on the road for just a short while, the bus began having some mechanical issues, so we had to turn around and head back to the Friends of Barnabas compound. We were very disappointed to miss this community, but thankfully, it will be visited by another Mountain Medical Teams within the next few months.
Some of the team spent part of the day visiting the Cataratas Pulhapanzak park, where the waterfalls are breathtaking. A few of us got a special overhead view by taking a zipline adventure.
We enjoyed our final dinner together at Cabanas Agua Azul. Tomorrow is our travel day back home, and as always, it’s bittersweet. We’ve missed our families and are happy to return to them, but it’s hard to leave this special place. We will miss our work in the communities and the families we met, the Friends of Barnabas Honduran staff, and the camaraderie that instantly made our team a family.
As we depart tomorrow morning, we will take a piece of this place home with us, and we will leave a piece of our heart here. This week, we have most definitely been blessed to be a blessing!
We hope you’ll enjoy “this week in pictures.”
