Our final day of clinic brought another day full of connections, stories, laughter, and lives touched. As we served our last patients, there was a bittersweet feeling in knowing this chapter of our journey was coming to an end. We came to Honduras hoping to make a difference, but the truth is, the people we met changed us just as much.

After our final clinic, we returned to the Alfredo House one last time with our Honduran colleagues. We celebrated one more birthday together before the goodbyes. We said goodbye to old friends we were grateful to see again, to new friendships that formed so quickly, and to the incredible Honduran teammates and translators who became part of our family throughout the week.

Different languages. Different cultures. Different lives. Yet somehow, we became one team, one family, serving the same Jesus. ❤️

We were given the opportunity to visit some local shops in town for souvenirs before heading back for a tour of the Friends of Barnabas clinic. There, we met members of the staff who took the time to explain their individual roles and how each person contributes to making a lasting impact in communities throughout Honduras.

It was another reminder that the mission doesn’t end when our team leaves. The work continues through the dedicated people who live here, serve here, and continue pouring into these communities long after we return home.

That evening, we shared one last dinner together and spent time reflecting on the week. We reflected on the people we met.

The children who made us laugh.

The mothers who shared their stories.

The elderly who inspired us.

The prayers spoken in languages we didn’t understand yet somehow understood completely.

The hugs.

The smiles.

The crosses given.

The crosses received.

The moments when we thought we were serving others, only to realize that God was serving something within us, too.

It has been an exceptional experience, one that will stay with each of us long after we leave Honduras. So, if you’re reading this and wondering what it means to live with purpose…

“Open your eyes and see the world…..For we can find Jesus in everyone we meet” - Dr. Dave

Look beyond what is familiar. Step outside your comfort zone. Meet people where they are.

Listen to their stories. Serve with an open heart.

And if you’re looking for a way to serve with purpose, we invite you to take the next step.

Join Friends of Barnabas. ❤️🇭🇳✝️

Come expecting to give. Come ready to serve. But most importantly…

Come ready to receive.
