Day 5 - A Seat at the Table (or on the Roof)

Devotions tonight were extremely powerful, reminding us that cultural barriers do not exist at God’s table. Dave serenaded us with an original song that provided comfort in God’s character and promises. The lyrics were the perfect complement to all we are experiencing this week - the camaraderie, the collaboration, the forging of a relationship with the Honduran people and their beautiful country. Lyrics are below, we hope they touch you as much as they touched us.

“There are so many questions and not enough time

For everyone’s answers to take away mine

So I’ve got to believe and trust that it pleases

God gave us the trees and the stars and baby Jesus

Who told us to love everyone of our neighbors

And to always love God for there is no one greater

He made us a promise and it’s truly amazing

We’ll sit at the seat that the Lord has been saving

There’s a seat at the table

And it’s waiting for you

Jesus He showed us that He loves us all

The weak and the weary the meek and the small

He has offered us room at His table above

No matter our color or who that we love

Yeah we all have a purpose we all have a place

We all are forgiven He’s given us grace

The saints and the sinners the rich and the poor

Just listen He’s calling He’s outside our door”
