Making Connections in Puerpa del Potrero

Wednesday, May 18, 2022

Another day with the team Be the Change. Today went to the community Puerpa del Potrero in San Jose, Comayagua. One of our nurses made a home visit because the patient was unable to physically come to the clinic. The patient received a wellness bag and was so happy to have the team nurse visit.

We saw people with serious health problems—wounds, diabetes, high blood pressure, and bradycardia (low heart rate). Connections were made at each of our stations. It was humbling to see the excitement and appreciation from the children as we handed out stickers and crosses. Parents were appreciative of the care provided to their children.

Our team is becoming closer with each other, and we are building relationships with our translators. We were able to spend a few minutes at the end of the day watching the children play soccer with the soccer ball the team donated to the community.
