The June Team is in Honduras!

Finally, our hearts are back home. Today began with meeting the whole team. There are more people invested in this program than I ever could’ve imagined, and every single one of them care so deeply about the mission. We were already excited to be the hands and feet of Christ, but after meeting everyone in this amazing village today, I think it’s safe to say we are even more excited for the rest of the week.

In our first village visit of the week, we were welcomed by community members with big smiles as we drove up the mountain. Many team members noticed the hospitality of the community president, who made a point to shake our hands and ensured smooth operations for the day.

Despite the high heat and humidity, there were no complaints from community members. Families with young children demonstrated such patience as they awaited medical and dental care. The nurses had stories of families dealing with long walks, painful injuries, and multiple challenging medical diagnoses. Through all the hardships and struggles we saw today, the community was so strong and happy.

Many of us enjoyed spending time with the sweet children, playing games, singing songs, and even making paper airplanes. As a team we could not be more grateful to be here working to make a change and very excitedly, look forward to the rest of the week.
