Today was a rainy and cool day. Jackets were worn all day and due to the conditions of the roads we took a different road back to the hard surface road.
Crosses given:
Roger gave his cross to a to a 4-year-old who climbed into to dental chair for his visit with the dentist without a whimper.
Linda gave her cross to a 40-year-old man who had a stroke with right sided weakness from injuries sustained from a machete. He also incurred an eye injury that became infected, leaving him unable to work. Linda was able to treat his infection.
Mark gave two crosses: one to a woman who told him she needed God, and another to a mom of a child who had a heart defect and of a 12-year-old who had learned fluent English.
Kristin received follow up on the girl who was given a cross yesterday. This young girl suffers from a life-threatening kidney disease. She was accepted into the FOB Healthy Kids program for treatment.
Two children were identified in the medical clinic with ventral septal wall defects and referred for additional follow up care.
Kristen saw a patient in the medical clinic with complaints of headache and insomnia. Their interaction led to an in-depth discussion of managing stress and journaling. He was grateful for the support.
Many parents and children were afraid to go to the dental clinic for fear they would get their teeth pulled. Their lack of dental care was evident. 20 extractions were performed and 2 cleanings. Young children were given fluoride treatments and toothbrushes.
