Our busy May continues with the arrival of the RISE team from the University of Alabama. Here's a little history. In 2016, at the end of a medical conference that FOBF hosted, Dra Sandra Corletto approached me about a partnership. Dra Corletto had worked with Dr. Loretta Holder-Brown several years ago with a small non-profit (HELP) that was aimed at providing rehabilitation for children who had just been released from long hospital stays. The non-profit had folded for several reason, but there were still some funds in account that needed to be used.
Dra. Corletto was sure that FOB was the organization who would use the funding in the spirit and purpose that Dr. Holder-Brown had hoped. FOB was blessed by this gesture and over the last 5 ½ years have used these funds to expand our Early Childhood Development Program.
The team from RISE team consists of 6 team members from both the University of Alabama RISE Early Learning Center as well as RISE Houston. There are a total of 7 RISE centers throughout the country, with RISE Alabama being the first, started by Dr. Holder-Brown.
The goal of this week is to do some staff development with our FOB medical staff focusing on case management. We are all excited about learning, sharing and growing together.
