¡Bendiciones desde Honduras!
Today, our team set off on a two-hour journey to El Caliche, Siguatepeque, Comayagua, home to about 220 residents. The community is primarily made up of farmers. This community had scenic views of horses and waters. On our way, we witnessed the storm's damage from the night before, with flooded homes. Despite the muddy conditions, the residents warmly welcomed us and eagerly helped unload our supplies. It was heartbreaking to see that the school where we stayed lacked space and only had two classrooms.
While working in the pharmacy, I observed that the medical staff frequently requested the same medications, reflecting the common issues faced by the patients. Many residents appeared to have skin conditions. Our team is dedicated to providing care in any way possible. Compared to earlier statistics, the community has been doing better, indicating that they are becoming more medically educated. As a first-timer on this mission trip, it’s truly inspiring to see such a hardworking team and the charismatic, loving children and families. As we approach our final day tomorrow, we’re truly saddened to be leaving so soon. However, we’re incredibly grateful for the unforgettable experiences and connections we've made.
