Travel, Service and Fun!
Friends of Barnabas is sending a Youth Team to Honduras this summer as a part of FOB’s Community Health Development Program. The team reaches out to children and youth in selected FOB communities in order to further FOB’s goals of preventative health education.
FOB needs a few more members and chaperones to complete the team.
The team will travel to four communities, one each weekday, to work with the community’s young people from first graders to teen-agers. The Youth Team will also visit two partner organizations, a local orphanage and the “School of Angels” (a school for children with special needs). A morning party at the orphanage and an afternoon gathering at the School of Angels will consist of a play performed by the team, coloring books, and a piñata.
Team members will be given a tour of FOB’s facility and a short lecture on the work of the organization. They will also participate in local sightseeing such as the Pulapansak waterfalls and a day at the beach. Youth Team members will meet also with the youth group from a neighboring church.
