Agua Salada

Friday, January 27, 2023

Today Team Trinity visited Agua Salada in Comayagua. This community consists of 69 families. They have no electricity, and the closest health center is a 3-hour walk.

Roger, Sr gave a cross to Bessie, who was anxious about a visit to the dentist. She left the clinic 4 times before deciding to stay and have her tooth pulled.

Matthew gave his to Christian, who befriended Matthew right away. Matthew states he was smart and had a smile that lit up the room.

Kristen gave her cross to one of the community leaderā€™s daughters who loves to study Social Studies and wants to be a lawyer.

Roger, Jr wanted to give his shoes away. Lindaā€™s patient was a coffee plantation worker who she thought would benefit from them and whose shoe size was the same.

We thought the community was well prepared for our arrival. They had new desks and chairs.

Paul had a lesson from Linda, one of our translators and Dra. Ondina, our dentist on ā€œkindergartenā€ Spanish as they were waiting for the medical clinic to close.

Linda saw an elderly gentleman with cellulitis around his eye. He was assisted into the medical clinic by the community leader. He was referred to Dra. Moncada for treatment in Tegucigalpa.

Kristen saw a 27-year-old who was mentally challenged. His mother stated that despite his challenges, he works in the coffee field every day.
