Serving God, Seen and Unseen

Trinity UMC (Richmond, VA) Mountain Medical Team

eJournal - Wednesday

Many of the journal readers will know that Trinity's team usually comes in January. This year we were delayed by a snowstorm! We are grateful to finally be here in April serving the people of Honduras.

We started our day with a team/staff breakfast which gave us the opportunity to meet and greet our Honduran staff. Some travel with the team, some are behind the scenes, doing daily maintenance at Alfredo House, which includes our excellent cooks!

Today we were at the community of Coninca, Santa Cruz de Yojoa. It was a long hot day, with temperatures in the mid 90's. The community provided cold soft drinks and water for the team, which was most appreciated!

About 70% of the clinic population are children. One particular child was a 9 year old boy with multiple orthopedic deformities. He had bilateral club feet and had never walked. This is the first time Friends of Barnabas has visited this community. The community leader thanked us for our visit and invited us back.

Tomorrow we will have breakfast at 6:15, leave at 7 for an 1 1/2 hour commute to our largest community of the week. We pray for safe travels.
